“Poggio Orlando” Riserva is a quality wine, an icon of the typicality and quality of Sangiovese produced in Tuscany. Derived from the typical region of “Colli Senesi”, it is the result of the elaboration of Sangiovese (90%) and Merlot (10%) grapes, on vineyards of 5.500 vines per hectare and production of 80 quintals of grapes per hectare.
This red wine has an excellent structure and an important alcoholic degree, but at the same time it is soft and pleasant, ideal to accompany important lunches and dinners.
“Poggio Orlando” Riserva Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG has an intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections, due to the ageing in wood. The bouquet is intense and vinous, with hints of ripe fruit and spices. On the palate, the decisive structure is balanced by freshness and remarkable balance. The notes of chocolate and tobacco are exalting. It is a perfect accompaniment to meat dishes, roasts, grilled meats and medium to mature cheeses.
Serve at a temperature of 18° C.
It has an alcohol content of 14%.
After manual harvesting, the must undergoes slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of about 24° C. After vinification, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks for 4 months, then continues its maturation for a period of 12 months in wooden barrels with a capacity of 500 liters called Tonneaux, followed by at least 6 months refinement in the bottle before release.
